Dr. Karl-Ludwig Ackermann

Dr. Ackermann, born in 1952, studied dentistry from 1971 until 1976 at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany.
In 1976 he received the DDS degree and in 1978 he acquired the degree D.M.D. From 1978 until 1980 specialisation in oral surgery ( University Mainz, department oral surgery).
Associated as dentist and oral surgeon together with Dr. Axel Kirsch in private practice in Filderstadt, Germany.
Since 1980 clinical and experimental work in the field of perio-implant-prosthetic andro-maxillofacial implantology.
Specialisation in oral rehabilitation, periodontology, implant-prosthetic, preprosthetic surgery.
Board Member of the German Society of Implantology (DGI).
Approved specialist in periodontology of the EDA (European Dental Association)
Part-time lecturer for the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) with the German Society of Oral Medicine and Dentistry.
Periodical lectures in the students´ program "Implant-prosthetics and Perio-prosthetics" at the University Hospital Charité of the Humboldt-University Berlin

Dr. Karl-Ludwig Ackermann

Dr. Irfan Ahmad

Irfan Ahmad graduated from the University of Liverpool, and maintains a private practice emphasising aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry. He is an internationally recognised clinician as well as an invited lecturer at many dental symposia, having presented in countries as diverse as USA, Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East, China, Russian, South America and the United Kingdom.

Academically, his publications number 150 in peer reviewed international journals, and his photographs have been extensively used for front covers of dental publications. He is the sole author of three books titled, "Digital and Conventional Dental Photography: A Practical Clinical Manual" (Quintessence Publishing Co), "A Clinical Guide to Anterior Dental Aesthetics" (British Dental Journal Books) and "Protocols for Predictable Aesthetic Dental Restorations" (Wiley-Blackwell), which has been translated into eleven languages. Additionally, he has also contributed to several dental books by eminent authors. He is an active member of the prestigious European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and the BDA PPC (Programming Planning Committee). Currently, he is engaged with writing two further books for Wiley-Blackwell and the British Dental Journal. His latest book is "Aesthetic Clinical Case Studies: Dilemmas & Solutions" published by Quintessence.

Prof. Dr. Athanasios E. Athanasiou

Dr. Athanasios E. Athanasiou is Professor, Chairman and Program Director at the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is President of the World Federation of Orthodontists (W.F.O.) (2005-2010).
He received his Dental Degree (D.D.S.) and Doctorate Degree (Dr. Dent.) from the University of Athens, Greece in 1979 and 1991, respectively, and his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Dental Sciences (M.S.D.) in 1985 from Temple University, U.S.A. He has also attended postgraduate studies at the University of London, England, Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, U.S.A., and Albert Einstein Medical Center, U.S.A. Dr. A.E. Athanasiou served as Associate Professor and Coordinator of Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He was the Dean at the School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2003-2007) and the President of the European Federation of Orthodontics (F.E.O.) (2000-2002).
He is member of the editorial board or/and referee of many international orthodontic journals, Honorary Member of the British Orthodontic Society, Cyprus Orthodontic Society, Lebanese Orthodontic Society, the South African Orthodontic Society, and Honorary President of the Greek Orthodontic Society.
He has received many distinctions and awards including the Edward Cherkas Memorial Award by Temple University (1985), Zendium Prize by Aarhus University (1990) and the Louise Ada Jarabak Memorial Award by the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (2001).
He has published more than 130 scientific articles, chapters and books, and has presented more than 300 lectures, papers and seminars all over the world.
